Kutoa Capital is digital asset investment firm led by father and son team Dean and Maxwell Karlan. Launching in 2022 into digital, we help clients invest in digital assets, and focus on non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and cryptocurrencies. Kutoa aims to be a pioneer in the art of investing in digital assets and will be using a wide variety of strategies, both short-run and long-run, and both quantitative and subjective.
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) come in many forms: images, videos, audio files, etc., but what is an NFT? An NFT is a unique, non-interchangeable piece of data that is stored permanently on a blockchain. This technology allows for people to provably own digital assets that have verifiable provenance.
Dean and Maxwell will donate 33% of their profits to charities in the effective altruism space. The firm will also offer the opportunity to its investor to join in both evaluating, deliberating and ultimately supporting charities. In 2021, we donated to Clean Air Task Force, Innovations for Poverty Action, Young1ove.org, BRAC-USA, TrickleUp, and Strong Minds in Uganda.
